El proyecto “Bosque Educativo” para la ampliación del Colegio Marymount de Barranquilla integra de manera armoniosa el espacio natural y el construido, fomentando una alternancia fluida entre áreas abiertas y cerradas que promueven el bienestar, la creatividad, y la interacción social. El diseño organiza las actividades en una secuencia de tres volúmenes, cada uno con una cubierta ondulada proporcionando protección solar y guiando la experiencia hacia la naturaleza. La madera, como elemento estructural natural presente en la edificación, no solo contribuye al entorno construido, sino que también evoca la capacidad humana para transformar positivamente el entorno si se hace de manera comprometida y responsable, recordando a los estudiantes las posibilidades que surgen cuando los recursos naturales se manejan con respeto y dedicación. El proyecto se realizón en conjunto con la Universidad del Rosario bajo la dirección de la Fabrica Creativa.
The “Educational Forest” project for the expansion of the Marymount School in Barranquilla harmoniously integrates the natural environment and built areas, procuring a fluid connection between open and closed spaces assuring well-being, creativity, and social interactions. The design organizes the activities in three volumes, each with an undulating roof providing sun protection and embracing nature through the remaining facades. Wood, as a natural structural element present in the buildings, not only contributes to the built environment, but also evokes the human capacity to positively transform nature, reminding students of the possibilities that arise when natural sustainable resources are managed respectfully.
